WONDERING IF INTERNEXT IS WORTH YOUR TIME
? By Erik of SoBeGirl Video
Wow, what a show! It was a networking maniacs dream. The
faces, the names, Las Vegas, the girls the Players Ball. D-money is the man and he put on
an awesome party inviting Snoop Doggy Dog to rock the house. This was the first time I saw
Snoop and they were in a groove so deep they had the whole club in a zombie like trance.
The outfits for the Balls themes - Pimp and HO made it all that much better. And a lot of
folks went all out with fur coats, red smoking jackets and sequin shoes.
SoBeGirl can party but the Players Ball just about tops the list.
It was great. The young and old just enjoying the hi-life we have made for ourselves using
the Internet and the oldest vice around. Hanging out with young millionaires and trading
secrets, building - friendships that are based on common interest and mutual trust. That
is what the Las Vegas Show was about and for SoBeGirl it was a smashing big hit.
I met so many new people and made so many new friends that I
cannot remember all of them. The convention floor was packed with people from all over the
globe. Japan, Australia, Israel, the Chech Republic, Germany, Canada, the list goes on and
on. Lots of new technologies driving innovative products that will surly revolutionize our
industry were just some of the most outstanding displays. Of course Video is the wave and
you can find an assortment content providers each providing a unique spin on the way their
video is being served.
If you have never been to Vegas before then let me sum it up for
you. The strip is like one big slot machine. The bells and whistles from the
gambling devices entice you to play. Every where you go you see them and hear their call.
If you have the itch then you can play to your hearts content. I mean 24 hours a day 7
days a week.
The food is cheap and the people in the hospitality industry are
extremely nice. And Las Vegas has some of the biggest hotels I have ever seen. They are
humungous buildings rising high into the dessert sky each spanning multiple blocks. And
the place is hot. Hot like an oven. I assume that if you have the time and you can get off
the strip to see the town you will find some great things. But for SoBeGirl this time it
was all work.
Up early in the morning to hit the convention floor for some
networking and then off to one of the great parties put on by some of the biggest names in
the industry. Helmy, Cybererotica, I-gallery, CEN to name just a few. The networking never
stopped. The days and nights just merge into one another as if they were the same. And in
Vegas they are. If you like to drink then you will be very happy with plenty of open bars
that are presented to you at every party. I am not talking beer open bars so, choose your
flavor of top-shelf liquor and simply leave a tip for the bartender.
Hip cloths and hot girls are just par for the course. All you
have to do is introduce yourself to that guy or gal next to you and next thing you know
you are trading cards and talking about all the business you can do together once each of
you gets home.
The number of women at the top of this industry always impresses
me too. There are several prominent content providers headed by women and each one of
these girls could easily be a model herself. Their beauty and brains are impressive
combinations proving that a woman can do anything she sets her heart to in the Adult
Entertainment biz and beyond. It is just a little disappointing that they are not more
vocal in empowering other women to do great things like they have but there are others
that up the slack.
I especially enjoyed meeting the newbies who all forked over 150
dollars to get onto the convention floor. They are hoping to break into the online adult
biz that they have heard so much about. Some dont even have a web site at all and
some do but are just getting started. Most dont have any grand illusions. They are
just looking for some supplemental income and want to know how to get started. These guys
are the future and I gave them just as much of my time as I did to anyone else.
The food and drinks, the girls and parties, the new friends and
business contacts, and the knowledge gained. How can anybody put a price tag on all of
this? If I take the cost of the trip and think about what I gained by being there then my
conclusion is that the 2001 Internext Las Vegas show was a bargain. So if youre on
the fence wondering if these shows are worth the price just ask SoBeGirl. See you at the
next one!
